Gas Furnaces

Heating and air conditioning systems are the biggest users of energy in the home, up to 75% of the utility bill. A new high efficiency furnace can save up to 50% in operating costs over a ten year old furnace. Many 1990 and earlier model furnaces have efficiencies of 65% or less. The minimum efficiency furnace that can be sold in the United States today is 78%. Furnaces are available that are up to 96.6% efficient.

Central Air Conditioners

Air conditioners may look similar, but check the SEER ratings. Higher SEER numbers save more money. A 13 SEER rated air conditioner uses 23% less energy then a 10 SEER unit. 13 SEER will be the minimum efficiency standard by 2006.

Heat Pumps

Heat pumps are rated in SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) and HSPF (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor). SEER and HSPF ratings are like Miles per Gallon rating of automobiles. Higher SEER and HSPF ratings mean greater energy savings.

Fan Coils

The fan coil is the indoor component of a heat pump system. It includes the fan and the heating/cooling coil. The fan coil is designed for a particular refrigerant, so it must match with the heat pump. A variable speed fan coil can improve comfort with improved humidity control and warmer heating temperatures, and save energy in cooling.

Packaged Products

Carrier's Small Packaged Products are flexible units that work easily in residential applications as well as light commercial. They are available in 10 or 12 SEER models with a 1.5 - 5 ton cooling capacity as well as a 040 - 135 gas heating capacity. Some models are available with Puron, the environmentally sound refrigerant.

Carrier small package products feature Envirotuff base pans that will never, ever rust. Added coil protection is also available for those tough applications. For close proximity housing, a low profile unit is available.

Geothermal Heat Pumps

nnovative Carrier geothermal heat pumps tap into the earth's surface, using the energy and relatively consistent heat found in the earth, a pond, or well water instead of using outside air like traditional heat pumps. Geothermal heat pumps provide both cooling and heating to your home and are able to maintain the highest efficiency on even the coldest winter nights or the hottest summer days.

Commercial

Commercial systems and buildings operate entirely different than residential buildings. Whereas most homes have approximately the same amount of heating hours and cooling hours in a typical year, commercial buildings typically have four to five times as many cooling hours as heating hours, in fact after morning warm-up, even in the middle of the winter, most of the interior spaces of commercial buildings require cooling.

We can provide economizer type systems that will provide essentially free cooling any time that the outdoor air temperature is below 65 degrees. This provided with high efficiency equipment and controls, and making sure that the ventilation, heating and air conditioning systems are only running when the building is occupied, can reduce your operating costs as much as 50% over standard efficiency equipment.
